Dr. Stack Whitney (she/her/hers) is an environmental studies scholar and Assistant Professor in the Science, Technology & Society Department at the Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate NY, USA. Part of her research program, with student collaborators and other colleagues, examines barriers to “open” science and knowledge. She uses a range of tools from science (ecology and ecoinformatics) and science studies (feminist biology and modern environmental history).
