Lauren H. Supplee, PhD, is a Senior Program Officer at the William T. Grant Foundation. In this role she oversees the Foundation’s portfolio related to research on improving the use of evidence in policy and practice in order to improve youth outcomes. She also leads the Institutional Challenge Grants, a program that encourages universities to support sustained research-practice partnerships with public agencies or nonprofits to reduce inequalities in youth outcomes. Dr. Supplee is committed to conducting research and evaluation that can contribute to program improvement and improved outcomes for children and families. Her research focuses on evidence-based policy; early childhood home visiting and other parenting programs, prevention science; and implementation research. Prior to coming to the Foundation, she worked at Child Trends as their Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Senior Scholar of Early Childhood Research. In addition, she worked at the federal Administration for Children and Families in the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation for ten years, leading research and evaluation for the federal Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting program. Prior to that, she was a Research Associate at the University of Pittsburgh in the Center for Parents and Children as Project Director of the original study of Family Check Up. She received her Ph.D. from Indiana University in Educational Psychology with a specialization in family-focused early intervention services. She serves on the Board of the Society for Prevention Research, National Evaluation Advisory Board for Project Evident and the Board of DC Family & Youth Initiative.
