Jungwon Byun is the COO and cofounder at Ought, a machine learning research lab automating and scaling open-ended reasoning. Ought’s core project is Elicit, an AI research assistant. Elicit uses language models like GPT-3 to automate parts of researchers’ workflows. Researchers in domains like tech policy, behavioral science, and cognitive science have used Elicit to annotate datasets, find collaborators, and brainstorm research topics. Prior to Ought, Jungwon was the Head of Growth at Upstart, a machine learning company in consumer credit, and a management consultant at Oliver Wyman.
