Abstract
Like many scientific disciplines, psychology contains diverse sub-disciplines, such as clinical, cognitive, personality, and industrial-organizational, where each have distinct histories, training approaches, theories, and methodologies. Therefore, promoting open science across psychology often carries distinct implications of importance across sub-disciplines. Panelists in this session include APA editorial leaders who are newly engaged in open science in their journals. With the help of the current APA Open Science & Methodology Chair, they will discuss both general and subdiscipline-specific policies related to open science in psychology, ways in which researchers can engage in open science practices, and lessons learned when applying these practices. The ways in which open science practices play out differently across psychology offer important lessons as we continue to develop frameworks and guidelines for engaging in open science within and across scientific disciplines.
