Rink Hoekstra is an assistant professor at the Department of Pedagogical and Educational Sciences, University of Groningen, the Netherlands. His PhD thesis was about the use and usability of inferential techniques, and his current research involves the replication crisis and researchers’ use of statistics (among others confidence intervals and significance tests), with the ultimate goal of improving science by trying to understand choices and shortcuts researchers make when analysing their data and drawing conclusions about them. He is also involved in the repliCATS project in which replicability of social sciences research is evaluated.
