Stephen Pinfield is Professor of Information Services Management at the University of Sheffield, UK, and Associate Director of the Research on Research Institute (RoRI). He has a particular interest in scholarly communication, open access, open science, research data management, and research evaluation and science policy. He has a strong record in involvement in policy development at national and international levels, and also development of systems and services to support open science. He was founding Director of Sherpa, an initiative to support open practices, in 2002.
